Native. New. Yorker.

Anthony DeVito has been doing stand-up comedy in public since 1998. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Anthony is an only child whose parents got divorced when he was little. He went to Catholic school for 12 years, got straight A's, collected comic books and eventually found himself working in advertising. Laughing yet?

For years, fear kept him from performing, but it was fear that ultimately pushed him into it. The fear of never trying comedy for real, and ending up as that guy you know who makes you laugh at parties. Anthony loves people, and also hates them. He's probably a lot like you. Just much, much funnier.

His TV credits include the Season 4 Premiere of Rescue Me, NBC's Late Night With Conan O'Brien, and commentary on VH1’s Best Week Ever, Awesomely Badder Fashion, Celebrity Showdown ” and Top 40 Videos of 2005. He can also be seen on Biography: The Brady Bunch on A&E and the series pilot Lost Treasures Of The Deep on DISCOVERY CHANNEL. In his film debut he played a heimlich-crazed doctor in the 2006 hit comedy from Italy Natale a New York (Christmas in New York.) In 2008 he will begin shooting a lead role in the independent film Two Toms directed by Jason Cusato of Park Slope Films.

Anthony has appeared in commercials for Caesars Atlantic City, CarMax, American Express and Fanta Soda. He's even been in a music video; if you look closely you can see him playing a mailman in Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day.

2007 saw the debut of 500% Italian, a monthly comedy show Anthony co-created with castmates and friends Katina Corrao, Joe DeVito, Law Tarello and Giulia Rozzi. An ethnic comedy show minus the cheesy stereotypes, 500% Italian offers smart, original comedy as an alternative to the "wiseguy" shows that have hijacked Italian-American stand-up. It there's an "altern-italian" comedy scene, 500% Italian is its Vatican City.

As a writer, Anthony created and is currently writing a new parody website that will debut in early 2008. He's contributed comedy to dailycomedy.com, Us Weekly's Fashion Police and Jest Magazine. He also co-created, writes and appears in the comedy short re:ORG, the heartbreaking story of a bunch of saps who work in an office that's run by evil aliens from outer space.

Comic of the Week: Anthony DeVito
"
Anthony DeVito is not only devastatingly funny, he’s also one of the nicest, most likable guys in comedy. In fact, he’s such a sweet dude one might worry that he’s setting himself up for an ironic tragedy. Nevertheless, we at Drink at Work are convinced that this guy will soon become a household name, and not because of an untimely, unseemly accident. But don’t let his genial off-stage attitude fool you. The moment DeVito starts a set his biting commentary on corporate culture, growing up Catholic and the finer distinctions in ethnicity will leave you howling. And that’s exactly what we love about him: he’s a good guy with bitter dark side. Perfection!" - DrinkAtWork.com

"I had the great pleasure of working with Anthony DeVito on VH1's "All Access Awesomely Badder Fashion" and "Celebrity Showdown 2". His insights were hilarious. He is completely professional and a gentleman to boot. I would work with him again in a heartbeat."
Paul Kaup, Producer, VH1

"Anthony is hilarious! I can honestly say I don't know where Fashion Police would be without him!"
Mark Cina, Us Weekly Magazine

"I've really enjoyed the tapings I've done with Anthony. He's always funny, prepared, professional and quite evil. I can't wait to work him again!"
Beth Kieran, Producer, VH1

"If you've ever been in a dentist's office reading a magazine, and found yourself laughing out loud, chances are you stumbled across Anthony DeVito's hilarious quips in the back of Us Weekly. As a fellow member of the Fashion Police, I can only say, "I'm not worthy." Anthony is one of the funniest people alive. He's a brilliant stand-up comic and it's a crime he doesn't have his own sitcom."
Steve Altes, Author of "The Little Book of Bad Business Advice" and "If You Jam the Copier, Bolt"
